Happy 2016! I'm sorry I've been MIA for a while. Life threw a lot at me not to mention I had finals and then worked long hours over break. Different blog posts have been mulling around in my head but I just haven't written anything down. But I figured it was about time so, at this time of year, people are making resolutions for the remaining of the year and saying, "new year, new me/you." But what does that even mean? And does it even happen? Many years I only make one resolution and let be real - they usually deal with health in some way whether dieting, losing weight, or working out. I'd be lying if I didn't want that for this year also. This year, I decided to make a few resolutions & they are: 1- Read more books for fun
2- Lose weight by my brother's wedding 3- Dismiss people from my life (actually and virtually) that don't belong anymore 4- Blog at the minimum twice a month Also, there is this thing called One Word 365 that is basically instead of a resolution, its one word to carry you through the year. Last year I tried applying a word but it was a little more abstract. My word was zeal. I haven't chosen my word for this year yet, but I have some ideas. To choose my word, I'm reflecting on what I went through in 2015 and how to better myself for 2016. One of my best friends might pick a word and then we can hold each other accountable for the next year. If you decide to do this, I would encourage you to find someone you trust to keep you accountable. Here is the link to find out more information about this: http://oneword365.com/ Basically the point of applying one word is to have the word encompass your life. This includes learning about it, reminding yourself to apply it to your life, coincidences that are actually God moments with it, and so much more. So, new year, new you. Is that you this year? If it is, its not an issue - that is if you really want to work on you. You have a fresh start, a blank slate! There are so many ways to work on yourself from your physic to attitude, appearance to goals or dreams, and so many other things in between. For me, I definitely do not want to repeat this past year, so I am planning on working on me. Hopefully I will be a new me in different ways. Lots of changes are coming this year like people I know and love getting married, my brother graduating from college and me starting my senior year in the fall, starting to think about and research where I want to teach in like a year in a half, and lots of other things. It's exciting but scary. Life is changing all around me so quickly, and it's hard to grasp it. But I think that's the best part about a new year: you may not be able to be whoever you want to be, but you can work on the parts of you that may need some tweaking in order to be the best version of you. For This Time, Cambria
