Hello old friends, I hope all is well and your Christmas spirits are high. This topic has been on my mind recently so I wanted to talk about it. As many of you know, I am succeeding quite well in the whole single life thing. I happen to live with a married couple right now (we’re great friends) but that’s not what spurred this on. It actually goes back to when I was in college. My best friend Allison talked about how she wrote her husband letters – she was single at the time. She would write about what was going on in her life, hopes, dreams, fears – everything. Allison told me that she planned on giving them to him one day (she got married this past July – Allison have you done this?). I thought this was a good idea, so I started to write him letters too.
To this day, I don’t have many letters (and I should figure out where I stored them…), but it spurred me remind myself on my prayer app to “Pray for my Future Husband.” From time to time it will pop up. But how on earth do you pray for someone that you haven’t met – or if you have, you don’t know who to pray for? It’s actually simpler than you may think. Yes, sometimes it’s asking God where my man is. Lately, it’s been little things I pray for him for like, "God, would you give him a song to make him smile" – or – "would you give him a meaningful conversation with someone that he hasn’t had one with in a while." Since I don't know him yet, I may not be praying for my man specifically, but in my singleness, he can still be covered in prayer and “enjoy” his time without me. That may sound weird or prideful, but it’s not intended to be. He’s not in my life right now (that I am aware of) but that doesn’t mean that I can’t be praying for him. Often my prayers are like, “Please prepare my heart for him”, and “Please be preparing his heart for me – because I know I’m a lot to handle!” How do you pray for those you haven’t met? Or perhaps you’re in a similar spot as I am and want to start praying for your future husband. All it takes is to start. For This Time, Cambria

I often pray that he will love you well and love and honor the Lord first and foremost. ❤️
