Hello Friends, it's been a minute (or like two and a half years, but who's counting?). Who would have predicted that we'd be in something like this quarantine because of COVID-19 otherwise known as the Corona Virus. It has a lot of people freaked out for sure. And honestly, for good reason. But there are good and bad ways to deal with this kind of thing. I'm not sure that stocking up with toilet paper is exactly the right response. Everybody's got butts to wipe, yall! The goal is not have to use leaves or CVS receipts. But such is human reaction. A little update on my life if you haven't been following me on other means of social media for the past two years...I moved from Florida back to Pennsylvania. I quit my teaching job because I was accepted into Arcadia University's dual major program for Creative Writing: Fiction (MFA) and English (MA). So my life right now is school, being a waitress, and working at the writing center at my school. I'm also hoping to add some babysitting in for supplemental income (if anyone lives near me or knows anyone who needs some help, hit me up!). While I know my life isn't the most hectic, I feel like with this societal change of the quarantine, it really hasn't changed too much other than limiting the number of times I go places in public. Technically I was on Spring Break last week, so classes are getting back in session now. But I'm trying to figure out how I can tap into my creative side in the sense of DIYs that I don't always have or make the time for. If anyone has any ideas, let me know. I'll try to keep this more functional than it has been so I can share what I've been doing also. We're in this together but separate...right? #sixfeetapartplease One of the things that I've been thinking about doing is to spray paint the plastic drawers that I have. You know the three leveled plastic drawers that you can get at like Walmart or anywhere that are great for dorm rooms (or young adult rooms who still have furniture left over from undergrad because #expensive)? Yeah, I use those as my desk drawers which are surprisingly perfect size. If anyone has ever painted these before, please let me know if you have any tips! I'm trying really hard not to say "I'm bored" because there are a million things I could be doing. Plus, I think I've gotten much more introverted as I've gotten older, so I don't mind being home with my doggie (that I guess I didn't have as of my last post) and roommate for long spans of time. One more thing! I know in this anxious and crazy time, it's hard to know what or who to trust. Since church can no longer be in session in person and, well, sleep is always important, I decided to check out my friends the Uhrich's church (The Hill) that they moved out to San Diego, California to help start up. Pastor Jimmy, the lead pastor of their church, gave a great message on dealing with the storms of life. I wanted to include the link here so you can watch it too. It's the entire church service, so if you want to sing, start from the beginning. If you just want to hear the message, start around the 24th minute. For This Time, Cambria P.S. - here is a picture of my Pup, Rusty. He's a dachshund mix. We got to play outside in our neighborhood dog park the other day when it was nice and warm. He celebrates his fourth birthday on Tuesday the 24th!
