Hiya Fam, I know I've been MIA again for a while. June was pretty crazy. My second job started, and I was finishing up my online class I took for 7 weeks. Life on my end has been non-stop to say the least. Some days I'll go from one job to the next with little down time in between - can anyone relate? Tiring days for sure, but money has to be made I guess. Needless to say, a lot has happened in this world. In OUR world. I've chosen not to say much because, in all honesty, I don't know what to say. My Facebook feed is full of people voicing their opinions and crying out for someone to fix this world we live in. But I'm going to try to hash out what's going on inside of me regarding recent events, so bear with me - beware, it's a long one. [Disclosure: these are all my point of views, not anyone else's. I'm not posting this to debate issues, rather to just get out what I'm thinking. Also, beware of sarcasm.] When my dad preached, one of his favorite stories to tell was about his daughter (me) when she was little. She had this wooden globe that at about the equator (half way) would twist open and little wooden people from all walks of life were inside. One day, a crack went up from the middle to the North Pole area. Crying, she took it to him and said, "Daddy, can you fix my world?" Something so innocent had such a large meaning. If only life was so simple as to put some special glue on the broken part and it would be fixed. This world needs fixing and all the special glue in the world can't seem to fix it. But when we run crying to our Heavenly Daddy, He knows whats going on and how to fix it. It just may not be exactly what we planned. It may seem impossible to us, looking back at what has happened even in the past month: Trump, Hilary, Pulse, Baton Rouge, Minneapolis, and Dallas. Trump is trying to "make America great again", Hilary is a criminal but isn't going to jail, people who are protecting us are being shot, people who are supposed to be protecting us are killing people, white man tries to fight for the white people shot & they get a bad rep, black people who fight for the black people being shot and waving a Flag from an African country are getting a good rep. Why can't we all just live together? What is color other than what we look like on the outside? We all bleed red. Yes, I am a white woman, and I don't know what it is like to be any other race or a profession where I risk my life every day, but I know what love is and who is the reason we have love in the first place. And to think, that's only in the USA, plenty of other things have been happening in other countries too that don't have as much coverage. Let's try to break some of these down. For starters, I just want to say that I despise politics. I think the system is messed up and no one who runs deserves to be in office. From there, let's go to Trump. Oh Donald, Donald. You say that you want to "make America great again", but when did my country, my United States of America, stop being great. Please enlighten me. Just because bad things are happening doesn't stop a country from being great. You being President might make it stop being great, but who knows. Let's jump over to Hilary. Mrs. Clinton, Dear, please tell me, if I had committed the same exact crimes you did, would I be in jail for the rest of my life? Okay, I would. So, what makes you different than me? Oh, you're running for President of the United States? Because it would be great to have a criminal rule my country. Also, do you write your own speeches? If not, you should fire your speech writer, "too many people are dead who shouldn't be." Thank you Captain Obvious. I thought not enough people are alive who should be. One last thing, Hil, if you REALLY want to be President, I would advise you learning how to speak to people ages 30-ish & under. You especially do not know how to talk to "kids" my age (20s), and we have the largest majority. Bernie knew how to talk to us. Just saying . . . Neither of you deserve to be in office and both of you are going to probably be the downfall of American Presidency. But who am I? Just some lowly college kid who has the right to vote but isn't sure she wants to use it because neither candidate will benefit me in any way. So just cast me aside because my voice isn't heard anyways. Because this country is made up of higher people than me who make decisions that benefit them. Pulse. Orlando and it's surrounding area I've come to love in the past three years of living there as a college student. Central Florida will always be home to me. But the fact that a man thought it was okay to walk into a club - one that I have friends and bosses who have been to before - is frightening. Sir, who gave you the right to say that their time was up? They were just trying to have a fun night out on the town and enjoy themselves in a SAFE place. Do you know how many actual safe places there are for the LGBTQIA community? Not many. Now, I'm not going to go into my stance of the community, but one thing I have learned with having friends and family in that community is that you need to remember that they're a human being too, so just love them for who they are. You may not agree with their lifestyle, but that doesn't have to stop you from loving them. It saddens me that not only are people being shot for no reason, but it happened three days in a row last week. Baton Rouge, Minneapolis, and then Dallas. What has this world come to that when we wrestle a man to the ground, it deems to shoot him? Or when he reaches for his wallet and happens to mention that he has a permit to carry, that we shoot him? Or that blacks and whites are so racially diverse we have to start snipping them off one by one? I don't understand it, and I don't know if I ever will. But I'll try to make a comparison, forgive me if it's not the best. I am going to school to become a Teacher. More often than not, one of the first responses I get when I say that is, "you know you're not going to make any money doing that, right?" or " I'm sorry." And when I say I want to teach middle school, people say, "you're brave", "why would you want to do that that, they're scary", and "I'm sorry." When did the profession of a teacher in the United States become a bad thing? How do you get through school without a teacher? How do you receive an education and be successful without a teacher? Even if you're teaching yourself, you're still a teacher. Teachers are the backbone to society and the most underrated job here. We get paid barely anything to live off of depending on the school district, area and state. How is it that in other countries, Teachers are revered while the United States is the land of opportunity, but not the land of needing teachers. Yes, our education system is not the best it could be, and it continuously reforms, but when did teaching become a bad thing? When did being a different color skin be a bad thing? Us white people, in the summer, we try to get as dark as possible. Some other races try to stay out of the sun to be as pale as possible. So now, we're just going to shoot each other because we don't like their color? How stupid is that? The color of the skin doesn't make a person. Yes, it influences their upbringing, but their color doesn't make them who they are. They decide who they want to be and that's who they become. *Breathes*
I hope you can see that I'm trying to be real with you of how I feel about certain topics. While I was thinking about writing this, I thought back to "what would Esther do?" How would she handle situations like these? Well, if you remember, she did save an entire people from getting killed, so I think she would have something to say about what the USA is doing right now. I think Esther would be protesting for both sides, waving the signs that say "All lives matter" and "We all bleed RED". She might need a push to get out there, but I have no doubt that she would take a stand. So how can we channel our inner Esther in days like we've had? I'm not saying that you need to go out and protest, if you want, go ahead. Just make sure it's peaceful. I think that we need to be bold. Talk about these hard topics. Let people cry and rage to you. Love on people. We don't know much about Esther's reign after her book is over, but I'd like to think that people came to her with their issues, and she would talk with them about them in order to try to find some solutions. If you already have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you know the answer to the world's issues. Love. And Jesus is love. If you haven't, I hope you find peace and love, but more importantly, I hope you find the real Jesus. For This Time, Cambria

Cambria, well said. So glad to hear your heart like Jesus does. This whole thing is a mess...and then I remember it's not really my home. I love it, but it doesn't fulfil me the way the air and camaraderie of That Home will.. I miss you and your family, esp that redhaired mama. Hug her tight for me next time you see her. And keep writing. I'm glad I stumbled in. HUGS, dear girl!!!
